This picturesque region in Western Siberia, with its incredible and still wild nature, stretches along the foothills of the Altai and Sayan Mountains.
Kemerovo region is also known as "Kuznetsk Land" because nature has generously endowed it with its riches, the most prominent of which are ores, coal and gold.
For example, in terms of coal reserves and quality, Kuzbass is the largest among all exploited coal basins, and it is also the oldest gold mining region in Russia.
The region is also renowned for the extraction of uranium, chrome, titanium, manganese, bentonite clay and other valuable minerals.
Here, on the left bank of the turbulent Mundybash River, which originates in the Gornaya Shoria Mountains, "Pelageev Log" is situated—a deposit rich in marbleized limestone for facing.
It was discovered back in the 1970s during the development of the Gornaya Shoria area in the Kemerovo region. Its confirmed reserves are estimated at 1,150,000 cubic meters.

Located in the Tashtagolsky district of the Kemerovo region, 18 km west of the village of Temirtau, on the left bank of the Mundybash River between the Pelageev and Minkov streams, you'll find "Pelageev Log." It is one of the key deposits for the extraction of natural marble in Russia. This picturesque region is part of Western Siberia, nestled in the foothills of the Altai and Sayan Mountains. The village of Temirtau itself is situated in a basin. On one side, the "Two Brothers" mountains proudly rise, and at their base, the railway and the TashTagol-Novokuznetsk highway pass by. The road from Novokuznetsk to Sheregesh also passes through Temirtau, near the quarry.
